Are there any episodes like that for you?
I do love whenever we get a little bit of Buffy, Xander, and Willow just hanging out and being friends. We don’t get that a lot throughout the seasons considering all of the mortal danger and slayering, so I appreciate when it happens! And it’s very relatable to me to hang out with friends and watch media from other countries with no subtitles so we can try to guess what’s going on :D
A girl successfully jumping off a balcony and running away from hooded figures? A mystery!

And we’re back to Buffy thinking about Angel and once again going over the fact that he’s a vampire and she’s the Slayer and they can’t be together! I’m getting a little bit tired of it lol
Cultural question: how common is it for someone in High School to date someone in college????
And again, we have the conflict between Buffy wanting a normal teenage life and Giles reminding her she’s the Slayer and has a duty. I do like that this continues to be a big thing Buffy struggles with and it’s the one point Giles doesn’t budge on. Or tries not to budge on lol

This is so damn creepy. So creepy. I’m so uncomfortable. I need to skip this entire conversation and go to the next scene, oh my god.
Aw, I missed Buffy going on patrol through the cemetery.
And Angel lurking! As usual. “You’re 16 years old. I’m 241.” Okay so, here’s the thing: vampire/human love stories always come with the age gap thing as it being part of the trope etc, but… I am finding that, as an adult person, I do not like when the age gap involves the human person being underage. And I used to think this was so swoony and lovely as a teenager???? Wow.
Angel grabbing Buffy??????????????????????????????? Like that’s acceptable??????????????????????
“When you kiss me, I wanna die.” Buffy goes so hard sometimes, damn.
That’s why rewatching formative shows is a good and very intriguing and thought-provoking exercise. With my 2024 adult brain, I can acknowledge what did age well at all and how problematic it was for me to watch it as a child/tween. But I can also see and recognize the bits that made me fall in love with it.

Xander is coming from a place of jealousy, but I do agree with him with the frying pan to fire comment. I feel like between Angel and Tom the Frat Boy, Angel is the better (and safest!) bet.

The episode comes to an end with Angel inviting Buffy to get some coffee and Buffy sort of saying yes! Why not just come out and accept and go get coffee right that second? I do not understand.
