BtVS - 3.05: Homecoming
Original Air Date: November 3, 1998
Writer: David Greenwalt
Director: David Greenwalt
Homecoming! Another cultural experience I never had lol This initial scene makes me glad for it since it seems like anyone who doesn’t have a date ends up feeling upset? I also love that I have absolutely no memories of Buffy ever dating Scott, so every scene of them being a couple is shocking to me.
We see Angel still having a hurt time and Buffy admitting she’s not going to tell the others about him. Because that always works out!
Maybe I deleted Scott from my memory because he broke up with Buffy because she was sad and distracted… Girls aren’t allowed to have complex emotions that aren’t joy, I guess????
Mr. Trick showing us he’s all up to date with the incredible technology!!! Finally, a modern bad guy \o/ I do like that they went with this shift for this character since we’re so used to dealing with ancient evil in the show. Here’s someone who’s not afraid to use all resources at his disposal to do bad things.
WE FINALLY MEET THE MAYOR! Who doesn’t seem Right.
Faith casually asking Buffy for them to go to Homecoming together: JUST GALS BEING PALS. Really, though, it’s good to see girls supporting each other and also good that us femslash peeps get scenes like this we can build on.
That was harsh from Cordelia… I’m not surprised Buffy decides to run for Homecoming Queen out of spite. Also: what’s up with Queen and King titles? What’s the point? Popularity?
SLAYERFEST ‘98 is such a cool name for a shitty game. Go, Mr. Trick!
Very much into the Willow and Xander being friends scene until the moment they see each other and go speechless. Why cant this ‘will-they-won’t-they’ between them go awaaaaaaaaay?
I’D FORGOTTEN ABOUT THE KISS!!!!!!!!!! CURSED SCENE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really can’t relate to the Prom Queen stuff lol no comments from me aside from: what is the point.
Of course Buffy and Cordelia get kidnapped! Honestly, Mr. Trick, one would think with all of the tech you have available, you wouldn’t mess up your kidnapping…
Faith really out there getting revenge for her bestie <3
This scene between Buffy and Cordelia stuck in the cabin is so!!! I love how they antagonize each other and that turns into them being surprisingly honest about their thoughts and feelings. And no vampires are a match for an angry Cordelia!
We get a name for the mayor! And also find out that he’s aware of all of the supernatural stuff happening around Sunnydale. He makes it very explicit that he needs the Children. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
LMAO THE PROM QUEEN PLOT TWIST was a good idea. It always makes me laugh and it ends the episode on a high note!
Vampires Slayed: 1.

Giles Taking Off/Putting On Glasses: Forgot to count!

Buffy: Sorry, Cordy, but you have no idea who you’re messing with.
Writer: David Greenwalt
Director: David Greenwalt
With Cordelia flaunting her sure win in the race for Homecoming Queen, she awakens the Prom Queen from within Buffy, who tries to enlist the entire gang to help her show Cordy how it's done, but some of their allegiances may be elsewhere. Meanwhile, the blood-sucking Mr. Trick assembles a host of killers in Sunnydale for a thrilling hunt to the death to bring down the two slayers.Sorry for the long break! Real life got the best of me. Now, for this week’s episode…
